Aluminium oxide is recommended for use in the aerospace and nuclear industries as a blast media. It is also used in refractory applications for its high alumina content giving it a high melting point. It is an efficient blast media in dental and crystal applications and can be used for stripping and deburring in the automotive industry. The finer grades are suitable for cosmetic scrubs and dermabrasion.
