February 22nd, 2016

Since the banning of Microbeads in cosmetic products 2015 due to the environmental concerns over marine life, Pumice Powders and Pumice Grains have been seen as a direct replacement within the cosmetic industry. Pumice is a natural and inert mineral that can be used in either face, foot or body scrubs. The pumice powders and grains gently exfoliate, removing any dead skin and leave the body feeling fresh and revitalised.

Techfil Plastic Media Grades

February 11th, 2016

Techfil Europe have recently expanded the range of Plastic Medias available to clients.

Plastic media is  used to strip delicate surfaces of their existing coating. Plastic  abrasives deliver a high stripping rate and consistent performance,  ideal for paint stripping, mold cleaning, deflashing and deburring.

The  use of plastic abrasives has proven to be faster, less damaging to the  substrate and much less expensive than wet chemicals. Since the plastic  abrasive is harder than the coatings to be removed, yet softer than the  substrate, coatings can actually be stripped three or four times without  damage to the surface. The 3 main types available are:

Type II -  Thermoset Urea Formaldehyde
Type III -  Thermoset Melamine Formaldehyde
Type V -  Acrylic (cross linked polymer)
